This is a portion of an AA flight from Budapest to the USA. I had paid for premium economy, but there is none on Lufthansa for this flight anyhow. Sure, it will be fine it's only a 2-hour flight. This is not happening till May 2025, so can't comment on anything else.

I've been using Lufthansa for many years but they are just getting worse and worse. My last 2 travels December and March 2025 is completely disaster. The way Lufthansa handles their cancellations is the worse and they keep declining hotel and food expenses caused by them. Please try to stay away even they are seducing you with the low prices.

On November 26 I arrived in Munich and my connecting flight was cancelled Lufthansa could arrange train to krakow Poland or flight to different city by they didn't
Seem like they don't care trying to fly me to Warsaw and then to krakow, absolute joke specially when I was going for my mother funeral and not only lost entire day but cost me hotel stay and meals and lots of frustration
      1star for sure

Thanks to the Lufthansa Airlines , i had the worst Christmas!! I booked round-trip flights from Washington DC to Shanghai Pudong airport at Booking.com ($1,865). My flight from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Munich Airport on December 25, 2024 (1:55 am) was canceled. I was supposed to transit at Munich Airport for Washington DC. I did not receive any cancelation notice via email or phone from Lufthansa Airline or booking.com. I had to spend another about $1,400 to buy a UA ticket to get back to the United States. I contacted the Lufthansa Airline, but they declined my request for a refund, with the reason that they sent me an email to inform me of the cancelation flight on December 9th (which was not true). I will never use the Lufthansa Airlines.

Luftansa cancelled our direct flight from Newark to Munich 8 hours before we were scheduled to leave. They rebooked us through Montreal. Then when the flight to Montreal landed late, they sent us from Montreal to Milan and then to Munich. An 8 hour trip took us 19 hours. Of course my luggage was lost and it took 5 days to get to me after it was first sent to Munich but inexplicably forwarded to Vienna and then Innsbrook. You can't make this up. I filed a claim on 9/1/24 with the airline. They did tell me how much I would be getting reimbursed, but now it is 11/1/24 and I have yet to receive my money. In addition, you cannot speak with an actual employee of Luftansa. When you call, you speak with outsourced agents who cannot actually help you.

One of my recent flights [leg three of a four leg round trip] left much to be desired. I booked and paid for Business Class service for all four legs. The third leg on Lufthansa from Amman to Frankfurt was approx. a three hour 45 minute flight [certainly not a short flight]. The "Business Class" section was in reality economy class, with seats three across or six seats per row. The seats were super small with no leg room and no back support. Yes the middle seats were vacant, but that did not make up for paying for Business Class service and getting economy class service instead. You could not even categorize the section as economy class plus.

I wrote Lufthansa Customer Service on numerous occasions and did receive reply's from them. However, all they did was dodge the central question. They kept repeating that the section was "business class". I told them all they had to do was check the seating chart to see they could call the section whatever they wanted, but it was still economy [quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, then it is a duck.] I never thought a worldwide airline such as Lufthansa would write off a customer.

When flying Lufthansa, we had our luggage delayed. This happens. In fact, they were not the only airline on our trip that ended up having our luggage delayed. The comparison with out the other airline handled the problem and Lufthansa was striking. We will remain customers of the other airline because they took responsibility for their mistake.

With Lufthansa, at the airport, they wanted us to wait for 3-4 hours to get our bag or return later in the day to get it. I informed them that we were on vacation and only had a day and a half on this leg of the trip. I asked if it could be delivered. Only have I pushed on this did they agree to deliver it to our hotel, but they said they could not deliver it until the next day. I noted that we had medication in the suitcase. Although we kept the essential medication for family members in our travel bags, we had some other medication in there. She still would not have it delivered the same day. I then asked if we would be reimbursed for our expenses. The Lufthansa employee was very vague in her response and just said to find the policy on the website. She did not provide a link or any additional information.

As we had little time in this city on a trip we had been planning for years, we went shopping without looking at the policy given that either way we had to get clothes and some toiletries (they provided a bag with some toiletries and a t-shirt, but not all the toiletries needed).

Once home from our vacation, I submitted a ticket to be reimbursed. I received a response within 24-hours, which initially seemed promising. However, the email said they would only reimburse us 100% if we returned d the items except for toiletries. This would be a lot of work, especially as the receipts were in a foreign language we cannot read. I voiced my disappointment that Lufthansa was choosing to not take full responsibility for their error and the impact of it. I also requested that we be reimbursed the 50% rate with documentation showing what of the total amount was reimbursed. After this, I never heard back from Lufthansa.

Everyone makes mistakes. What differentiates people and companies is that some take responsibility, while others do not. Lufthansa obviously does not. While there are a few reviews here, these could easily be outlier experiences. Take a look at their reviews of the Better Business Bureau website and their D- rating by the BBB. This should provide sufficient evidence to know it is not wise to fly with Lufthansa.

      DON'T FLY LUFTHANSA!

Imagine: You have an aisle seat and the overhead bin opens at the time of disembarking and a 30-pound suitcase lands on your head. This is no joke. It happened to me. There was blood on my head that day as well as several days afterwards. I saw a Neurologist. He recommended that I have an MRI to determine if I had incurred a concussion. I had the scan and reported back to the Neurologist's office for the results. He confirmed that I had incurred a concussion. Not remembering that I had already seen the doctor and heard the results, I returned to the doctor to follow up on the scan. He asked why I was there and then explained that he had already met with me to give me the results of the MRI. I was very confused. I didn't recall meeting with the doctor and receiving the results the first time.

Since the accident I have the ongoing problem remembering encounters with people and conversations that I have had either in person or over the phone. Do I now need to start writing down the most casual of conversations? How would that be possible in a social setting? And what about the cost to my lifestyle? Before the accident I was a very social creature. I attended a lot of social mixers and went on many dates. Now I am inclined to avoid many of these social gatherings because I'm afraid I will forget a conversation as soon as it has ended. How would you feel if you went on a date with someone and didn't recall it? What if you ask out that same person again thinking it would be your FIRST DATE and it turns out to be your second? Imagine feeling as embarrassed as I do. It has been nearly a year since the accident and my memory is no better.

Still worse - I had just returned from South Africa where I had had a hair transplant. I was told by the doctor to be very careful with my head because the newly implanted hair follicles (or whatever you call them) could be damaged and this would prevent the new hair from growing if anything happened to my head - especially within the first few months. Little did I realize at the time that the suitcase landed on my head that no new hair was going to grow - that the operation had been ruined. I was shocked by what had happened to me. I was upset. And you know what? This accident could have been easily prevented if the luggage bins were designed differently. Imagine that instead of their being one bin which is tall enough for one suitcase to lay on top of another that there were two bins. This way the suitcase that was on top would be in its own bin and wouldn't automatically fly out as soon as the bin was opened. It would have been so simple to prevent my unfortunate experience.

WHY in the world would I travel Lufthansa again if they show so little compassion for me under the circumstances I described? I will NEVER travel Lufthansa again. There are so many other airlines to choose from.

DON'T FLY LUFTHANSA. If something should go wrong and you should be hurt, I can guarantee you that Lufthansa will not handle the matter nicely.
